The Chinese Body Clock:

The Chinese body clock is based on the principle that each organ in the body has its own time of peak activity. For example, the liver is most active between 1 AM – 3 AM, while the stomach is most active between 7 AM – 9 AM. This is when digestion is at its peak, and gut problems are more likely to occur. So, if you’re experiencing gut problems, it’s worth considering whether your body clock is out of sync. This system can be used to help diagnose problems in the body and to determine when certain treatments should be administered. It can also be used to help promote overall health and well-being.

Gut problems can be caused by a variety of factors, including stress, poor diet, and infection. They can also be caused by problems with the small intestine, such as inflammation or blockage, so it’s important to consult a doctor if symptoms persist.

The first time I even heard the words “Chinese Body Clock” was about 10 years ago. I had been waking up at 3:20 AM for days on end with severe abdominal pain. I went to a homeopathic doctor for relief. She began asking questions and started describing my issues to me! After she had asked several questions she noticed the horrific rash on my face and said it was all related to my small intestine! I was shocked. She gave me a remedy and I have never had the severe abdominal pain since that day.

Symptoms of Small Intestine Issues:

The small intestine is responsible for breaking down and absorbing food. It is also where most of the body’s nutrients are absorbed. Common problems that can arise in the small intestine include skin issues, constipation, diarrhea, and malabsorption. These problems can be caused by a variety of factors, including poor diet, food allergies, and infections.

If you’re interested in learning more about the Chinese body clock digestion or improving your health, there are a few things you can do.

  1. Research. Research. Research. There are a plethora of articles online and many books written on this very subject. Educate yourself!
  2. Start Today. Even if it’s baby steps. Start making changes today. Cut out sodas or sweets (we all know those are terrible for us anyways). Pledge to eat one helping of veggies a day. Just do something today to start the process of healing your gut.
  3. Give yourself Grace. We all mess up. Or sometimes we decide that celebrating a loved one’s birthday with a slice of cake is just worth it. If you vere off of your new plan – start over at the next meal!

What can I do to Balance my Small Intestine:

  • Eat a balanced diet and avoid processed foods. Make sure plenty of cooked and raw veggies are on your menu. Avoid anything with sugars, even natural sugar until your small intestine is healthy again. NO CARBS as they are hard to process.
  • Get plenty of exercise and fresh air. Staying stagnant is one of the worst things we can do for our overall health, but especially our gut. We need to keep things moving thru our body and moving our body helps that process. Not to mention the improvement in mood we get from a short stroll on a sunny day.
  • Make sure to consult with a qualified healthcare practitioner before starting any new treatment regimen.

With a little effort, you can improve your health and well-being – and maybe even learn a thing or two about the fascinating world of Chinese medicine!
